Welcome to the Wormit Hedgehog Care Centre Website
This is a totally voluntary and self funded care centre run by Sandy Boyd with assistance by my wife Alice.
We admit sick, injured, orphaned and abandoned Hedgehogs brought to us from anywhere in Scotland (being pensioners now we need all our funds to cover food, heating and veterinary bills so are unable to travel long distances to collect casualties).
Unfortunately we are now unable to give talks or attend any events. We are still available to give advice and assistance where required for sick or injured hedgehogs.
The aims of Wormit Hedgehog Care Centre are: -
a) To encourage and give advice to the public concerning the care of hedgehogs particularly when injured, sick, treated cruelly, orphaned or in any other danger.
b) To encourage children to respect our natural wild life by supplying information and giving lectures, and thus fostering an interest in hedgehogs.
c) To assist with research into diseases and illnesses of hedgehogs and to find the best methods of assisting their survival.
d) To care for orphaned, sick or injured hedgehogs until they are either fit to be released back into the wilds or keep in safe and comfortable surroundings.
